 Amit Mishra Career

Amit Mishra was first called to play Test matches against the West Indies in 2002 but could not be selected.

He played the first Test match against Australia at Mohali's PCA ground as Anil Kumble, the captain, and leg-spinner of the Indian team, was injured at that time.

Wahepar Amit Mishra took 5 wickets for only 71 runs in the first innings and took 2 wickets for 35 runs in the second innings, due to which India got a decisive victory in that match.

Amit Mishra became the highest wicket-taker in that match. But even after such a strong performance, the then Indian coach Gerry Kirsten said that if Anil Kumble gets good then Amita Mishra will not be taken in the third Test match.

But Kismet also supported Amit Mishra and due to injury Harbhajan Sing in the third Test, he had to get out and Mishra got a chance to play in the third Test match.

Anil Kumble was injured during the Test match and announced his retirement, which made Amit Mishra the first choice for India as a leg-spinner.

Mishra was again included in the team for Bangladesh tour, as Harbhajan Singh was injured at that time. The first Test was played in Chittagong where he scored 50 runs in the second innings and also took 7 wickets.

But despite performing so brilliantly, he did not get a place in the next Test, and Ojha was given a chance in his place.

When the Indian team went to England in 2011, Mishra scored his best score of 84. In 2016, when the Indian team went on a tour of the West Indies, they took 6 wickets in two Test matches there.

Amit Mishra performed well in that tournament and continued the round of pick-ups. He continued to perform well even after batting in the last overo.

In the IPL of 17 April 2013, he took a hat trick against Pune Warriors. He was playing for Sun Risers Hyderabad that season. And after that hat trick, he became the first bowler to take a hat trick three times in the history of IPL
