Ravichandran Ashwin Career
Ravichandran Ashwin has reached spin bowling to a different
level. But Ashwin also did not get success so easily, he also took time to
become a good spinner. Ashwin also walked on Anil Kumble's path and gave up a good
engineering career and embraced cricket.
In 2006–07, Ashwin produced a terrific performance in
domestic cricket for Tamil Nadu. Initially, Ashwin was not included in the
players playing Gyara.
But he was given a chance to play based on his tremendous
performance in the Indian T20 League and scored 38 against Sri Lanka in the
first match. He was named in India's last 15 players for the 2011 ICC
Cricket World Cup.
It was his dream to become an opener but that could not be
fulfilled but in his form, the country got an all-rounder player, especially in
Test cricket where he scored two centuries against the West Indies.
In early 2017, Ashwin broke Australia's Dennis Lillee
record and took 250 wickets in only 45 Test matches to his name. He became
the fastest player to make such a record.
He also broke Dale Steyn's record of taking the most wickets
in a season, taking 82 wickets i.e. 2016-17.
Apart from being a great bowler, he is also an effective
batsman. He was ranked number 1 on the all-rounder's list in the ICC Test
rankings in 2016. In March 2017, he was replaced by Shakib Al Hasan.
Many times he has broken the tactics of many teams by scoring
centuries and half-centuries. The golden future of Indian spin bowling is
now in the hands of great players like Ashwin.
