Sehwag early life
One of the finest batsmen of world cricket, Sehwag was born
on 20 October 1978 in the house of a grain trader in New Delhi. He spent
his childhood in a joint family with his siblings, Uncle, Aunty and 16
brothers. His family hails from Haryana and later moved to
Delhi. Sehwag is the third of four children of his father Krishna and
mother Krishna Sehwag.
His father had sensed Sehwag's interest in cricket as a child
and gave Sehwag a toy bat for seven months. Later, Sehwag went to Arora
Vidya School in New Delhi to study and Sehwag used to persecute his parents for
playing cricket. It was on this basis that he made his mark as an
aggressive batsman in the early stages of his cricketing career and his coach
at the time was Amar Nath Sharma.
When his teeth were broken while playing cricket in 1990, his
father had decided to end his career but Sehwag postponed the detention with
the help of his mother. Later Sehwag completed his graduation from Jamia
Milia Islamia.
In April 2004, Sehwag married Aarti Ahlawat under heavy
security, hosting India's Union Law Minister Arun Jaitley.
In 2011, Sehwag started the Sehwag International School in
Jhajjar, Haryana, which is 65 km west of Delhi. The school was inaugurated
by his mother and his father, and his mother had a strong desire to have an
institute in which children read, write and play. After his second triple
century, the Haryana government offered Sehwag 23 acres of land to build an
academy, where he had prayed to open a school instead of the academy so that
he could convert his father's dream into reality.
